The train line between Aberdeen and Dundee is closed to all services due to a track defect found near Stonehaven.

ScotRail halted all services after a safety inspection of the track between Laurencekirk and Stonehaven earlier this afternoon.

As of 3pm those intending to travel are asked to check for the latest updates on routes to and from Edinburgh, Glasgow and Inverness.

This includes replacement bus services which are being set up.

Those intending to use services between Inverurie and Montrose which have been cancelled are also asked to check services along with two scheduled services between Aberdeen and Inverness which have been affected by a broken down train leading to a reduction in carriages.
