A Macduff caravan park has been named the best in Scotland by an industry magazine.

Practical Caravan features its Top 100 sites in Britain every year and Myrus Holiday Park has come out top in the Scotland region.

For the past few years the popular holiday site has been a finalist.

Myrus Holiday Park has been named as the top caravan site in Scotland by an industry magazine.

For owner John Ritchie he is delighted the park has won this top accolade.

He said: "It is a big achievement for the park.

"For the past few years we have been a finalist in the Scotland region but to be the Scottish regional winner in the Top 100 for 2019 makes us extremely proud knowing that our visitors appreciate the standard of facilities we offer.

"Hopefully this recognition can attract more tourists to the Banffshire area.

Visitors to the caravan park were asked to review their stay at the site.

These reviews are then sent to the magazine, which then assesses different aspects of them and the facilities the parks provide.

From there it collates its top 100 list, which is included in a supplement in the magazine and on its website.

Mr Ritchie took over Myrus Holiday Park in 2005 and since then the park has been totally redeveloped and upgraded. It now holds a five-star grading by Visit Scotland.

He added the award by Practical Caravan, which is the top caravanning industry magazine, recognises the substantial investment and hard work which has been put in to provide a high standard of accommodation for visitors.

The site provides facilities for static caravans, tourers and tents throughout the spring and summer season.
