Eight-year-old, Ava Pearce who attends Tipperty Primary made the following plea -

Tipperty School Needs You!!

The school is just outside Ellon and is a small country school with very good teachers.

We are a small friendly school with an inclusive way of learning.

It’s a good school to go to because you get lots of kind people to help you.

You can come by bus, or car its very quick to get there.

Learning difficulty children can come, the teachers are trained to help them.

We each have our own learning levels and the teachers help us to do our best.

We need new children to come to our school and be part of our community.

Please come and see us if you are interested.

On Thursday at the Education committee, the annual statistics for school rolls in Formartine showed that there are no operating schools below 25 per cent capacity in 2022 with Easterfield School and Fisherford continuing to be mothballed for the current session.

The roll at Tipperty School is expected to decline below 25 per cent by 2027 and subject to the number of P1 enrolments for August may reduce to one class next session.

Fintry School also has a declining roll and may reduce to one class in August 2023.
