THREE new coronavirus cases were confirmed in Moray between July 13 and July 19.

But, according to statistics from the National Records of Scotland, the number of deaths in the area remains 20 – with no coronavirus-related death for the fifth consecutive week.

Another weekly update will be provided later today (July 29), which will cover up until July 26.

One death was confirmed in Aberdeen City between July 13 and July 19, taking the NHS Grampian health board region's death total to 260 since the outbreak began.

A total of 123 of those who have died have been residents of Aberdeen City, 117 of Aberdeenshire and 20 of Moray.

Scotland-wide, six people died with coronavirus between July 13 and July 19, taking the total to 4193, according to NRS figures. These numbers include all deaths where coronavirus was mentioned on the death certificate, even if the person hadn't tested positive for covid-19.

This represents the 12th-straight weekly reduction in coronavirus-related deaths across Scotland.

The Scottish Government's most recent daily update (accurate as of yesterday) showed 2491 people have died within 28 days of testing positive for coronavirus.

This means, across Scotland, there has been one death in the last two weeks where the patient had tested positive for coronavirus and died within 28 days.

In total, 349,223 people in Scotland have been tested through NHS labs and regional testing centres, with 330,665 negative tests and 18,558 positive. A total of 4152 have been discharged from hospital after testing positive.
