Thistle and Colony kick off their 24 hour challenge runs

Turriff Thistle FC management, players and committee members are the latest north-east team to take up the Loco's 24 Hour Challenge.

Manager, Barry Massie was first out the blocks at 5pm on Friday with team hourly slots throughout the night taken on through to Ewan Clark who is looking to ensure a strong finish at 4pm on Saturday.

Turriff Thistle have agreed that any money raised should stay within the local community.

As Barry said: "We, as a club, have always been so greatful and appreciative of the support given to us which allows us to do what we do.

"We could not be happier to have this fantastic oppurtunity to give something back.

"All donations raised will be equally shared between our chosen charities - Turriff Cottage Hospital, Turriff Food Bank and Friends of the Den".

Over in Inverurie, Colony Park Amateurs kicked off at midnight and will be running through the whole of Saturday in aid of Crohn's & Colitis and Maggie's Cancer Care Aberdeen and with a tremendous support had already cracked their £1500 target before a single player set off.
