Police Scotland's North East Divisional Commander thanks Dyce community for support after death of Jill Barclay

THE North East’s Divisional Commander has thanked the Dyce community for its support while enquiries have been carried out in connection with the death of 47-year-old Jill Barclay.
All closed roads have since re-opened following the discovery of a body in the early hours of Saturday September 17.
However there is still a police presence in the area and some cordons in place while Police Scotland’s Major Investigation Team continues its investigation.
A police incident pod is located near the roundabout at Stoneywood Road and Victoria Street, and anyone with information or concerns is encouraged to visit local officers stationed there for support.
A 22-year-old man has been charged in connection with the death and appeared at Aberdeen Sheriff Court yesterday evening (September 20).
Chief Superintendent Kate Stephen said: “This has been an extremely distressing incident which has caused a great deal of shock in the local community. This shock has also been felt across the North East and our thoughts are with Jill’s family and friends at this very difficult time.
“Officers will be in the area over the coming days carrying out enquiries and providing reassurance. Please approach them if you would like to speak to someone.
“I would also like to take this opportunity to thank the community for your patience – your support is appreciated.”
