The Smiddy recruits new tutors and business development lead to Banff team
The Smiddy in Banff has welcomed new staff members to its team.
The silversmithing base at Old Market Place is run by Vanilla Ink.
After a challenging 18 months, it is now looking towards 2022 and beyond.
A spokesman said: "The foundation on which Vanilla Ink is built is Educate Inspire Empower, so after three years as lead silversmith and jeweller at The Smiddy, we are delighted that Megan Falconer will be moving her focus to her own making business based in Aberdeen.
"Megan will still be teaching at The Smiddy as a freelance tutor, and we are both excited to see her grow her own business and delighted that she will still play a huge part in the continued success of The Smiddy.
"We have just recruited two new tutors to the team. So as well as Megan, and Milly Munday, our regular tutors will also include Aimi Cairns and Amy Ferguson.
"Both have incredible experience and we are really excited about some great new classes coming in 2022. More information on our new tutors will soon be on our website.
"Most of you will be aware that unfortunately Alison Arrowsmith left us earlier this month, Alison made an incredible contribution to Vanilla Ink The Smiddy and is sorely missed.
"However, we are very excited to be welcoming aspiring jeweller and business woman Eilidh Geraghty, to the team.
"Eilidh has lots of experience working in not for profit organisations and comes to The Smiddy as our business development lead.
"Eilidh will be looking after the day to day running of The Smiddy and The Silversmith Quarters, as well as focusing on local and Scotland wide partnerships.
"At the same time Eilidh is training with our tutors in Banff and Glasgow and will also be joining our tutor team later in 2022.
"Keep your eyes peeled for updates on our new classes and more information about our fantastic team coming soon.
