TWO Moray-based artists will exhibit their collaborative work in the Cabrach this weekend as part of their joint artistic venture.
Lynne Strachan and Mary Bourne are known collectively as Cabrach Reconnections.
Since 2021, they have used their artistic skills to express the importance of nature and farming in the area.
Their latest exhibit, Living from the Land, examines the pressures of depopulation in Scottish rural communities and how the climate is affecting these places.
One of the pieces that will be on display is a detailed 3D clay portrait of the Cabrach.
It will feature all the dwellings that could be identified in the area from over the past 300 years, and will be cast into bronze.
Lynne said: “We have made two larger installations considering the passage of time and how the forces of change are affecting people’s lives, as well as some smaller, more intimate pieces.”
And Mary added: “People have always lived from the land, harvesting its resources one way or another.
“This still holds true, though the need for the nation to become self-sufficient in power has introduced a whole new kind of harvest where the weather in this exposed place is being harnessed to create electricity.”
The exhibition will be held at the old school in Lower Cabrach from August 25 until August 27, from 11am-4pm each day.
One or both of the artists will be at the exhibition at all times and visitors are welcome to talk to them about their work.
