Thainstone House Hotel reopens after lockdown

As more lockdown restrictions ease, Phase 3 has already allowed the hospitality industry to reopen their outdoor dining areas and as of July 15 this now includes all indoor dining areas, subject to physical distancing rules and guidance.

One local hotel which has reopened is the Thainstone House Hotel in Inverurie who are serving food both inside and outside and have lots of space to socially distance in both areas.

As the Government have now brought out the Eat Out to Help Out scheme which allows a fixed discount from the final bill and many local business are applying to take part, Thainstone House Hotel are one of the hotels participating.

General manager, William Inglis said: “The Governments dine our scheme is an great initiative not only for business, but those who has been working through the lock down and those who were restricted by the lock down, I am looking forward to seeing loads of families up until the schools go back and then some parents treating themselves whilst the kids are at school. “

“We’ve launched an amazing new menu for the rest of the summer, expect locally sourced meat, game and seafood.

“So far business has been steady, I do expect it to pick up rapidly once the word gets out that’s it’s not like dining in a sterile environment.”

With businesses in the hospitality industry following strict social distancing rules and guidance to make the area comfortable in these strange times for customers, the Thainstone House Hotel are taking a number of steps and Covid risk assessments to ensure customers and colleagues are safe.

Parent company Crerar Hotels were the first hotel group in Scotland to be fully certified by VisitScotland as “Good To Go”, and approved to reopen all of their hotels and inns this week.

Mr Inglis added: “We have been fairly robust in our planning – including Covid Risk Assessments, we have introduced new tech to kill 99.9 percent of pathogens and create a barrier to prevent growth within 28 days, PPE for my colleagues, signage, hand sanitising stations, enhance cleaning regime throughout the business and a strong management presence to react to changes swiftly.”
