THE NHS has accidentally sent text messages to people aged 80 plus in Moray containing incorrect information about flu and Covid-19 boosters.

Messages were sent by the health service's national appointing team in error, with NHS Grampian now urging people to ignore and delete the texts.

Apologising for the error, a spokesperson for NHS Grampian said: "We have been advised text messages have been sent to the 80 plus cohort containing information about their flu and Covid-19 booster appointments.

"These were issued from the national appointing team in error. We understand they were using an out-of-date appointment schedule.

"Anyone who receives a text with an appointment should delete it and attend the appointment given in their 'Blue Envelope' letter.

"We are extremely sorry for any confusion or inconvenience and look forward to welcoming people to their vaccination appointment."
