Drainage improvements have started on the A96 carriageway north-west of Huntly and will continue until September 16.

Work is taking place between 7am-7pm on weekdays on the Bin Hill crawler lane to Ashgrove filling station between Cairnie and Huntly.

The last week will see it carried out overnight between 7.30am-6pm.

This work is being done by engineering company Amey on behalf of Transport Scotland.

It's costing £205,000 and should benefit more than 7600 vehicles that travel on the road each day.

The work is described as "weather dependent" and may be cancelled or rescheduled if conditions are unfavourable.
