People with a passion for health and safety and education could get involved with Absafe – and there are a number of ways to help.

Absafe deliver presentations in schools and throughout the community, and also have a special education facility named The Safe.

Visitors to The Safe will find themselves acting out potentially deadly situations in a completely safe manner, Absafe describe it as "escape rooms meets health and safety".

Discussing what volunteers could gain by becoming involved in Absafe's education work, a spokesperson said: ""Fancy yourself front and centre? Then this is the opportunity for you.

"From our facility The Safe, we let children and young people experience dangerous situations in a safe environment.

"With eight themed rooms to choose from there is something for everyone."

Opportunities are also available within the tech field, and Absafe are inviting experts in app and game development to lend their talents.

Absafe are currently working on an app named H20 Heroes, which they describe as "Pokémon Go meets water safety".

The app will teach younger people about the best way to stay safe while enjoying the water, and a volunteer could take the reins in developing it.

The Absafe spokesperson said: "We need enthusiastic tech whizzes to help us save lives in Scotland with our brand new water safety app and board game."
