Overnight surfacing improvements to begin on A96 near Keith

THE A96 carriageway near Keith is set to undergo a road surfacing improvement scheme worth £400,000.

Amey will carry out essential maintenance to around 800 metres of the road from October 17 to November 7.

Resurfacing work will take place between 220 metres north of Blackhillock Junction and 1.5 kilometres north of the B9115.

The work will be carried out using two different stages of traffic management, firstly under temporary traffic lights followed by a night time convoy.

Temporary traffic lights will be in place from 6.30pm to 6.30am each night from October 17 to October 20, with traffic management removed by 6.30am on October 21.

Overnight convoy working will then take place from 6.30pm to 6.30am each night in three phases:

  • Five nights from October 22 to October 26. Traffic management will be removed by 6.30am on October 27.
  • Six nights from October 29 to November 3. Traffic management will be removed by 6.30am on November 4.
  • Two nights November 5 and November 6. Traffic management will be removed by 6.30am on November 7.

There will additionally be temporary traffic lights in place until midday on October 23 and October 24.
