SSEN Transmission's public events across the Blackhillock to New Deer and Peterhead project route got underway this week with the first of a series of pre-application consultation meetings relating to several new sub-station locations.

The first event took place in Maud on Monday and was followed on Tuesday by the second at Cuminestown wheer a packed hall saw dozens of local residents turn out to find out more about the New Deer 2 substation site, its location, how it will link into the proposed tranmission line that will cut a swathe across the area and also how this site is to be connected to the exisiting sub-station which will not be able to meet the capacity issues caused by the new 400kV line.
