The Spring Autojumble will launch Grampian Transport Museum’s 2024 events season.

It will take place on Sunday, April 14 and museum manager Ross McKirdy is excited at the prospect of getting the season off to a flying start.

He said: “Our Autojumble has always been a popular event and it was badly missed during the Covid lockdowns.

“Since we were able to recommence them, they have been going from strength to strength.

“This year we have the highest number of ‘pre-booked’ pitches we have ever had and if the usual number of people turn up on the day it could easily be a record event.

“Autojumble is a very loose description. People bring all manner of things to sell, from their garages, sheds and homes.

“There are the hard-to-find car and motorcycle parts of course, amongst all the tools and machinery, and sometimes complete vehicles and motorcycles.

“It’s amazing what you see for sale and happy people heading back to their cars with their arms full.

“Gardening equipment is very popular at this time of year and with spring cleaning in full swing there is bound to be a big range of household goods.

“To guarantee a place on Sunday it is better and cheaper to book a spot in advance, but with the Autojumble you are welcome to turn up on the morning and we’ll do our best to fit you in.

“The autojumble is a great family day, with lots of rummage boxes for the children and food and refreshments available too.”
