Following the success of last year's event, the Turra Spooktacular has returned to raise money for youth organisations in Turriff.

Raising money for Girlguiding, Scouting and Boys' Brigade groups in the town, the event offers a variety of activities for the community to get involved in.

Throughout the school holidays people can search for the pumpkins hiding in shop windows by joining the pumpkin hunt.

There are also three competitions running as part of the event - best costume, best joke and best carving.

Sheets for joining the pumpkin hunt are available from Peters or Brown The Butchers.

The pinnacle of the event is the spooky trail, which invites homes and businesses to decorate for the weekend of October 29-31.

There is still time to sign up to be a location on this year's spooky trail, with prizes available for small displays (i.e. window), large displays (i.e. garden) and business or group displays.

A map of all participating locations will be available to help people explore the trail, which goes live at noon on the Saturday, and vote for their favourite displays.

Last year's event raised over £300 to be split between the three charities.
