ORGANISERS of the Speyside Stages rally have been praised for taking the event into the centre of Huntly last Saturday.
And one of the drivers, Jack Ingleby from Glass, who returned to rally action after a 20 year absence described it as an "incredible event."
In a letter to The Huntly Express, Fiona Murray wrote: "I have little or no interest in car rallying, but it was so good to see so many people in the centre of town, particularly those who came to follow the cars.
"I hope that Huntly Square can be used for that purpose again and that we can welcome even more visitors to enjoy the hospitality."
Mrs Murray also thanked the organisers for quickly tidying the area after the visit.
Jack Ingleby and his sister, Grania Watson crewed a 1968 Ford Mustang which finished 43rd overall and third in the historic category.
Jack said: "We set out to put a smile on folks faces and certainly did that in places. The car did not miss a beat which is a great tribute to Graham Cheyne and Mike Smith who made it ready."
