Speyside's The Copper Dog named one of the UK's 'most Instagrammable' country pubs
A SPEYSIDE village pub has been named as one of the UK's most "Instagrammable" country watering holes, according to research by a national lifestyle brand.
The Copper Dog, at Craigellachie, took 15th place in new market research conducted by British company Hollands Country Clothing.
The pub, which opened in May 2014, has 2,874 followers on Instagram @copperdogpub.
Located at the basement level of The Craigellachie Hotel, the pub prides itself on offering the best of the region's food and drink.
The pub has been known to serve the odd A-list celebrity.
Nightclub entrepreneur Piers Adam bought over the hotel in October 2013. The establishment is managed by Kevin Smith.
The Ebrington Arms, voted the UK's number one village pub in The Times and a staple for anyone visiting the Cotswolds, came out on top.
The Sportsman, a Kent favourite known for its fresh caught seafood, came in second, while Killingworth Castle, in the Oxford countryside, came in third.
After a winter in lockdown, people across the UK are looking forward to getting out again, with a projected boom in UK staycations this year.
Hollands managing director Mark Holland said: "If lockdown has shown us anything, it’s that green spaces and good company are essential for our mental health and wellbeing.
"We hope this research will help the public explore the British countryside and find some truly hidden gems.
"We also hope that it will help highlight truly amazing country pubs that are often the heart and soul of their community."
