SNP announce candidate for Aberdeenshire North and Moray East Westminster constituency

The Scottish National Party have announced current Aberdeenshire councillor Seamus Logan as candidate for the new Aberdeenshire North and Moray East Constituency at the next Westminster election.

Seamus Logan has worked most of his life in the NHS and has over 30 years’ experience as a public servant in the health service, the majority of this at a senior level planning and commissioning all health and social services for large populations.

His last position prior to early retirement was as Regional Director for Community Health and Social Services in Northern Ireland.

Seamus Logan serves as a local councillor for the Fraserburgh and District Ward on Aberdeenshire Council, having been elected at the 2022 council elections, and is immediate Past-President of Fraserburgh Rotary Club.

Moray is now split into two new constituences - Aberdeenshire North and Moray East and Nairn, Strathspey and Moray West.

Commenting on his selection, Mr Logan said: “I'm delighted to have secured the support of local SNP members to be confirmed as the SNP candidate for Aberdeenshire North and Moray East in the next Westminster election.

“My thanks go to all those members who voted for me in this keenly contested selection.

“Team SNP will now come together to win the trust of voters in this new seat of Aberdeenshire North and Moray East and put forward a positive case for independence.”
