Snowy conditions lead to ambulance overturning on A98 road

An ambulance careered off the A98 road and overturned as the north-east continues to be hit by snowy conditions.

The incident happened around 11.20am just outside of Boyndlie on the Banff to Fraserburgh route.

There was nobody injured in the crash.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We received a report of a crash involving an ambulance on the A98 around 11.20am.

"Scottish Fire and Rescue Service attended.

"The road was re-opened around 12.20pm."

A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We are aware of a weather-related incident involving one of our ambulances on the A98, near Boyndlie.

"The ambulance, which was on its way to an emergency call, was not transporting any patients and the crew are uninjured.

"An alternative ambulance was sent to the original call.”
