Having grown up in Gardenstown, Rachel Jack a new emerging singer and songwriter now lives in Aberdeen

Her debut EP 'The Calgary Tapes' is an acoustic odyssey, showcasing her raw vocal talent and lyrical craft.

Recorded at the An Tobar Studios on the Isle of Mull, the five-track EP is as introspective as it is up-lifting.

Singles, Nowhere, The Hardest Part, Bring Me Down and Equalised have been released this year to much acclaim including, Jim Gellatly's track of the day, BBC Scotland and Amazing Radio airplay, and featured by Tenement TV and BBC Social.

Rachel was the winner of the University of the West of Scotland's inaugural Paolo Nutini Songwriting Scholarship and following a lengthy corporate career, she made the decision to commit to her songwriting passion full-time in the summer of 2018.

She is influenced by the likes of Angus and Julia Stone, First Aid Kit, and Fleet Foxes, Rachel's folky style, layered harmonies, and honest storytelling create a soothing mix of reverie and reality that compels the listener.

The EP, 'The Calgary Tapes', is released on Monday, July 20.

To accompany, Rachel will be doing a lockdown live gig on Wednesday July 23 via Facebook and Instagram from The Net Store and each month throughout 2020 so far she has released a track on the 20th of each month in the run up to the release of the new EP.

2020 has been a busy year for the songwriter with a second EP already complete and due for release later this year.
