Season opens for Aberdeenshire’s bowlers

Across the north-east, local bowling clubs have been moving to outdoor play with green openings taking place at a number of clubs over the weekend.

This included Ellon Bowling Club where an excellent turn out saw, the first Jack of the season delivered by Club president) Craig Dinnes daughter Elsa. This was followed by 10 ends of bowling for teams made up of president versus vice president with the president's team winning a very narrow win 50/49.

This Saturday play continues at the club with a Come Along And Try Bowls event which runs from 11am till 2pm for all the family who come and try bowls with the help of some of the regular members. No experience is necessary but flat soled shoes (no heels, no treads) are required on the green. Bowls available to suit all sizes.
