Co-op stores in the north-east have once again distributed thousands of pounds to groups as part of their Local Community Fund.

For the 2022-23 fundraising session, the three causes which the Fyvie store supported were Fyvie Guide House, Auchterless Playgroup and Methlick Scouts.

1st Methlick Scouts Group were awarded £1011.50.

This money will be used to buy archery equipment for use by members during sessions.

Co-op members raise money for local groups simply by scanning their membership card while shopping, with two pence from every pound spent on eligible items going into a charity pot for that store.

Members can then choose which of the three current causes they would like to support, or if no cause is selected their 'donations' will be split between the causes.

Nationally the fund has donated over £117,000,000 to community causes.
