Lyme Resource Centre's (LRC) Arlene Brailey explained: "Many people are well aware of the risks of tick bites. "Some may have already suffered from Lyme disease.

"And we saw, with great pleasure, that Grampian Online published a full article on this last year with our sister charity, LDUK."

She continued: "Lyme Resource Centre (LRC) is a Scottish registered charity – and aims to raise awareness of ticks and Lyme disease - encouraging safe enjoyment of the benefits of outdoors whilst protecting ourselves against the risk of tick bites.

"LRC’s website is a reliable source of information on the management of tick bites as well as the signs and symptoms of early Lyme disease."

But she added:"Lack of information on Lyme disease and its impact makes it difficult to build a case for improvements in diagnosis, treatment and care.

"LRC has created this Lyme Disease Experience Survey to begin to gather information on the impact of Lyme disease in the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland.

"We would like to hear from people with any experience of Lyme disease, whether mild or severe, fully recovered or with ongoing symptoms or those caring for someone with Lyme disease.

"Participation in the survey is voluntary and anonymous - respondents are not required to disclose their identity. Further information is available on the LRC website."
