With many working from home due to the coronavirus pandemic, a number of people are no longer spending money on their regular fuel and travel costs.

Now Scotland's Charity Air Ambulance which recently launched its new base in Aberdeen are asking people to fuel their life-saving flights instead.

The #DonateYourCommute campaign helps SCAA continue its vital work responding to incidents and medical emergencies across the country.

As Scotland’s only charity air ambulance, SCAA is funded by people in Scotland, primarily through donations, fundraising and events.

SCAA's director of fundraising and communications, Nick Harvey, says: “Due to the coronavirus pandemic, many of our fundraising events have sadly, and understandably, had to be cancelled this year.

“As the charity relies solely on the public’s kind donations, we are hoping this campaign encourages people to pledge their support during these challenging times.”

The charity is also encouraging supporters to use the hashtag #DonateYourCommute on social media.
