Familiar faces descended on Aberchirder this weekend in support of Marnoch Beaver and Cubs.

The groups organised a scarecrow trail to run from October 16-19, with 37 scarecrows inspired by beloved children’s characters popping up around the village and money raised benefitting young members.

Ranging from TV shows and movies to popular storybook and fairytale characters, there was a buzz around the village as residents and villagers alike grabbed a map to try and spot all 37.

Organisers were overwhelmed by the support, and said: "People have really gone above and beyond, we are so impressed with the scarecrows.

"The buzz in the square on Saturday was fantastic - thank you to everyone who has made a scarecrow and bought a map to support us with this event.

"We like to provide our groups a variety of opportunities throughout the year so fundraising is vital for resources and activities.

"Fundraising will cover the cost of an upcoming trip to try out paddle sports with Cullen Sea School and we have lots of fun festive events coming up!"
