RUTHVEN author Maggie Craig is releasing a new book which builds on her historical expertise.
The writer's latest novel Star Tossed Moon, to be released November 23, is the third in her Storm over Scotland series, which takes readers back to the Jacobite world of the 1740s.
Maggie has a track record of penning historical texts, including Damn’ Rebel Bitches: The Women of the ’45, its Bare-Arsed Banditti: The Men of the ’45, When the Clyde Ran Red and One Week in April: The Scottish Radical Rising of 1820.
Taking a central role in the Storm over Scotland series, the life of Jacobite Christian Rankeillor changes forever after she collides with Redcoat Captain Robert Catto – kicking off a romantic adventure which unfolds as the future of Scotland hangs on a knife-edge.
The penultimate book in the series, Following on from Gathering Storm and Dance to the Stormit reveals that Mr Catto has painful personal reasons for thinking all Jacobites are dreamers and fools.
But, describing the book, Maggie said: "The last thing he expected was to find himself falling in love with one.
"The last thing he wanted was to realize how much he cares.
"Not only about surgeon-apothecary’s daughter Christian Rankeillor but about Scotland too: and the three young people now under his and her protection.
"Closer to home, malicious enemies lurk in the shadows.
"Can Robert and Kirsty dare to hope they might have a future together?"
The Ruthven author has also published six family saga novels set in Glasgow and Clydebank, where she grew up.
Another of her works, One Sweet Moment, was featured by the Scottish Book Trust as one of their 15 Romantic Novels Set in Scotland.
A popular speaker around Scotland’s libraries and book festivals, Maggie has served two terms as a committee member of the Society of Authors in Scotland.
