Internationally acclaimed authors, leading scientists, visionary filmmakers and intrepid explorers form the line-up for the RSGS Inspiring People talks - widely regarded as the best National talks programme in Scotland.

Set to kick off in September, it features 90 talks taking place in 13 towns and cities across Scotland including Aberdeen, Ayr, Borders, Dumfries, Dundee, Dunfermline, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Helensburgh, Inverness, Kirkcaldy, Perth and Stirling.

RSGS Chief Executive Mike Robinson commented: “We have been bringing stories of science and adventure to audiences from Aberdeen to Dumfries for nearly 140 years, and have been privileged to hear first-hand tales of insight and inspiration. This season promises to offer something of interest for everyone and anyone.”

In Aberdeen, the first talk - Sacha Dench: Through the Eyes of Ospreys, takes place on October 7 at University of Aberdeen, Meston Building

Where do Scotland’s ospreys go on migration? What incredible challenges do they face along the way?

Through stories, images and first-person accounts, conservationist and paramotorist Sacha Dench brings us their individual journeys of life, death, and sudden disappearance. Her Conservation Without Borders team followed these impressive birds from the sky, the land, and even underwater, all the way to Africa and back, to investigate where they go, who they meet, and why we lose so many on this great migration. Be prepared for a big, inspirational adventure.
