Moray's MP is asking everyone to pick up a couple of pieces of litter every time they go for a walk along the beach.

Douglas Ross took part in the Great British Beach Clean at the weekend, joining a group of litter-pickers at Findhorn.

Speaking afterwards, he said: "We are so lucky to live in a stunning part of the world.

"Moray has some of the finest beaches in the country, so I was very keen to be involved.

"Discarded plastic isn't just unsightly, it also puts our marine life at risk.

"While The Great British Beach Clean highlights this issue each year, if everyone picked up just a couple of bits of litter every time they go for a walk on one of Moray’s beaches throughout the year then it could make a massive difference."
