In addition, his songs – including My Mother and Play Me The Waltz of the Angels – have garnered more than 50 million views on YouTube.

This year is set to be busier than ever for Owen, with extensive tours planned.

His dance show, accompanied by Country Harmony, will visit Longmore Hall on Sunday, February 12, for an afternoon of toe-tapping music, song and dance.

Owen said: "This is my first time coming to Scotland to perform a dance.

"I'm very much looking forward to it."

Owen cites Gene Watson and Rascal Flatts among those who inspired him to perform, but his greatest influence and advocate has been his parents and father, Dessie, who is also a country music singer.

To date Owen – who has been a regular on TV channels such as Sky and RTE – has released six studio albums with a brand new CD and DVD set to be released in the coming days and weeks.

Doors on the day open at 2.30pm, with admission £15 per person. The dancing commences at 3pm and runs until 5.30pm.
