The skies may be dull but your day certainly won't be if you're heading in to Aberdeen to see The Osmonds: A New Musical this week.

The musical takes the audience through Jay Osmond's memoirs, tracking the highs and lows of The Osmond family and giving insight to what it was like to grow up as an Osmond.

It's not just Jay's life that the story follows either, but it successfully gives a glimpse of the struggles fame forced upon each member of the infamous Osmond family focussing especially on the 'lesser known' Osmonds who started it all with their barbershop quartet.

The Osmonds is bursting at the seams with contagious smiles, colourful lights and timeless hits.

The cast do a fantastic job of portraying the Osmonds, and do an equally great job of bringing the songs back to life.

Wardrobe and set are both simple, but effective, and play their part in transporting the audience back to the appropriate decades.

Audiences are leaving with their spirits feeling uplifted, in no small part thanks to the opportunity to boogie that rounds off the show.

The Osmonds plays its part in ensuring the family remain a household name for generations to come by bringing with it the same level of joy and entertainment which the family themselves brought to the world decades ago.

The Osmonds: A New Musical is in Aberdeen's His Majesty's Theatre until Saturday, November 5.
