As part of a UK tour to promote new album Last Night In The Bittersweet, the star returned to Aberdeen to give the city's Music Hall an evening of indie rock and soulful fun.

The tickets for the gig sold out within minutes and it was clear fans were absolutely delighted to see the singer make his Aberdeen return, as was the singer himself.

He said: "It's been a while since I played The Lemon Tree, I had some good times inside - and outside."

The intimate Music Hall also proved perfect for the musician, ensuring fans were brought even closer to the action as the singer brought a night of electric fun to fans. The psychedelic backdrops to each song, projected around the imposing old venue only added to the fun, and at one point Dumbo-like pink elephants paraded across the walls and ceiling of the building.

The venue also added to the impact of his more heartfelt songs, with one fan crying to his song Everywhere, while many sang along with Iron Sky which resonated deeply with the audience packed into the Music Hall.

Songs from latest album Through the Echoes and Acid Eyes were massive hits with delighted fans, who danced and sang the lyrics in tandem with Paolo's powerful voice. However, nothing could top the crowd's reaction to some of his older tunes. Candy, from album Sunny Side Up appeared to have the entire Music Hall singing along, while a fantastic mash up of Jenny Don't Be Hasty, The Undertones' Teenage Kicks and New Shoes allowed fans to join in - clapping, singing and tapping their feet along to the song.

The singer worked the crowd effortlessly, with the confidence and charisma of a seasoned rockstar as he effortlessly interacted with fans keen to make their delight known, shouting "We love you Paolo!" at every opportunity..
