Aberdeenshire East MSP Gillian Martin has marked the retirement of a north-east police officer who is standing down after more than 30 years in the force.
It comes after Superintendent Murray Main announced he would be leaving his role.
Now Ms Martin has paid tribute to his contribution to the police force in a motion to the Scottish Parliament.
Ms Martin said: “I have worked closely with Murray as an elected representative since becoming a member of the Scottish Parliament in 2016.
“Murray has always been keen to keep MSPs informed on the issues that matter most to constituents and to address their concerns.
“The connection between the local policing force and the wider community is paramount and Murray has been committed to ensuring it works.
“I would like to thank Murray for his hard work and dedication to the police force and wish him well in his retirement.”
