Residents reminded to share views on Turriff Haughs Masterplan

Turriff residents are being reminded to have their thoughts noted on work which has already been carried out and future plans for the site as part of the Haughs Masterplan Review Survey for 2022.

At this weeks meeting of Turriff Community Council which took place on Monday evening, it was noted that while there had been some responses, more were needed in order to get a broader picture of the community's thoughts on the plan.

Following the development of the Haughs Masterplan in 2017, the Haughs Regeneration Steering Group are undertaking a review of the existing masterplan so as to update it.

The Haughs Regeneration Steering Group, a stakeholder group made up of Aberdeenshire Council officers, Councillors and representatives from local community groups who have an interest in the Haughs are continuing to work together to make improvements, encourage more local usage and attract more visitors to the Haughs in Turriff.

Whilst there have been many improvements and projects implemented since this partnership was set up such as upgrades to the playpark, new signage and notice boards and the creation of a wildflower area, they are looking to gather views from the wider community and users of the Haughs to help shape the priorities for the area over the next five-year period.

Ideas include the expansion of the car park, creation of a crazy golf area and further work to increase events hosted at the site.

The survey can be found here and those filling it in are advised that due to the nature of the form used any section which you wish to leave with no response will need some form of text in it such as n/a or none.
