Rescheduled date for the Middleton Trust runs in Ellon

In view of recent events the Trustees of the Middleton Trust held a meeting on Monday night at which it was decided to postpone this weekends Fun Run which was due to take place at Gordon Park on Sunday as a mark of respect for Her Majesty until Sunday, October 16.

All those who have already entered will be notified and informed that their entry will be carried forward to the 16th.

If they are unable to attend provided they contact the Trust they will be given a voucher for a future event.

The Trustees apologise for this unfortunate alteration which none of us were anticipating. "

Chairman of the Trust Ean Mackie said: "For those runners interested in taking part on the 16th the registration date has been extended to 13th October when it is hoped that more youngsters will jump at the opportunity to take part."

Potential winners this year are set to take home the Primary School Shields for teams of three or the Overall Team or the Local Team for the 3k shields on offer.

He added: "At the moment there are around 100 entered to try and win the 10k Race that was last won in 2019 by Tom Roche of Garioch Runners.

"Is there any three person team out there who can prevent Newburgh Dunes from claiming both of the 10k team shields again this year?

"There's only one way to answer these queries and that is by entering yourself so in order to do so go to https://resultbase.net/event/6386 and enter now before it's too late."

The 3K starts in Gordon Park in Ellon then takes runners around Meiklemill before returning back to Gordon Park.

3K prizes include first male and female past the post along with male and female winners in the following age categories: Under 7, 7-8, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14, 15-16, 17 and over.

There is also an award for fastest runner for each Primary school and there are team events for a maximum of three runners with medals for overall team and local teams

Family Team competition sees the winning team of the fastest parent and child time regardless of how many family members are on the team.
