A KEITH-born musician judged among the UK's best is releasing her debut album next month.

Amy Papiransky made the final of the BBC Young Traditional Musician of the Year last year.

Since then she has carved her name in the Scottish folk scene, touring Canada, America, Ireland and Germany.

Read Me Write is the title of her self-penned debut album which is set for release on Sunday, September 1.

Amy, who is a classically trained pianist and violinist, said: “Recording and releasing this album has been a long-held dream of mine and I’m incredibly proud to be putting this personal collection of songs out into the world.

"Songwriting was my first love and Read Me Write is the culmination of many years of putting pen to paper, performing and – with the help of many friends and musicians – slowly building my confidence."

During the past 12 months Amy has also performed in India, as well as at the BBC Proms in the Park.

Her 11-track album features a stellar line-up of seasoned Scottish musicians including Charlie Stewart, Graham Rorie, Innes Watson, John Lowrie, Phil Cunningham, Rory Matheson and Ross Ainslie.
