A paper detailing the options for the unit's operating model will be assessed by the area's integration joint board (IJB) on Wednesday, August 28.

Ahead of that meeting the Aberdeenshire Health and Social Care Partnership is inviting members of the public to a drop-in information session on Wednesday, August 21 at the Harvest Trinity Church in Banff from 3pm-7pm.

The information session will present recommendations for the minor injury unit at Chalmers Hospital.

Mark Simpson, partnership manager for north Aberdeenshire said: “At the last meeting of the IJB, a paper was agreed regarding the future opening hours of four other minor injury units in Aberdeenshire and we agreed that the staff in the unit would do a further, in-depth piece of work looking at the types and times of attendances at the Banff minor injury unit over a six-month period.

"We have now completed that work and would like to present our findings to the local community ahead of the paper going to the IJB.”
