Banffshire gives a warm welcome to Princess Anne
Princess Anne returned to a community visitor centre she officially opened more than 20 years ago during her visit to Banffshire today.
The Princess Royal visited the Boyndie Visitor Centre, which is home to the Banffshire Partnership and the Boyndie Trust.
Her Royal Highness opened the building in 2004 and she had the opportunity to go back and see how it has developed.
She was able to meet all the staff, volunteers and people who benefit from the services it provides.
When unveiling a commemorative plaque at the centre The Princess Royal said: “It is a pleasure to come back. The ambitions that you had when you opened have been more than fulfilled here.
“Thank you so much for doing that. It’s a pleasure to see just how far you have expanded and the scale of your enterprise.”
Earlier in the day after she had visited Cullen Princess Anne stopped at Gray Composting Services to learn more about the business based near Fordyce.
It is a food waste collection and organic waste recycling company which covers across the north-east of Scotland.
The company was able to showcase what it does and The Princess Royal was able to meet staff who ensure it continues to thrive.
Lord-Lieutenant of Banffshire Andrew Simpson said: “It was a pleasure to welcome Her Royal Highness, The Princess Royal, to Banffshire.
“She has long held a great interest in this area and its people.
“It was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate with her the hard work and dedication of the many individuals, local community groups, businesses and organisations that add so much to the lives of us all.”
