Grampian Pride forced online by pandemic once again

Organisers of Grampian Pride, an event celebrating the LGBT+ community of the north-east, have announced that all physical events will be cancelled for the second consecutive year.
As with many other events across the UK, last year's Grampian Pride was postponed until 2021 with an online alternative offered to those who still wished to participate in a local pride event.
In a social media statement organisers revealed that they had decided "with a heavy heart" that the same was to happen this year.
The statement read: "Four Pillars's trustees and the Grampian Pride committee are dedicated to the wellbeing of its volunteers and community.
"It is with a heavy heart that due to current uncertainties with the virus and the safety of the community, it has been decided that Grampian Pride, scheduled for 29th May 2021, will now take place online only.
"Virtually Grampian Pride will return for a second year, only bigger and better than 2020.
"We want to ensure the community have something to look forward to during these unprecedented times.
"Grampian Pride is not just a festival, it is a chance to remember our past, celebrate our present and embrace our future.
"The Grampian Pride committee have already spoken with the local authority to obtain a new date in 2022."
Anybody with a paid ticket for the 2020 event will now be automatically refunded and once plans are confirmed for Grampian Pride 2022 new tickets will be released through the Grampian Pride website.
