BUCKIE High's Buddy scheme welcome its latest batch of recruits at a packed training day held in Highfield Hall.

The S5 and S6 students spend most of the day participating in a range of workshops and activities which will help them in the new roles assisting new S1 students first of all find their feet at the school and later aiding them in class.

Tracey Sutherland, one of the event organisers, said: "One of the major themes this year was being being positive – of having a positive image of the school, of learning and being a good role model.

"During the training an important thing is to try and take them back to their own S1 days so the can appreciate what it's like for the P7s coming up to Buckie High."
