A Portsoy youngster has completed a cycling challenge which raised money for a homeless charity.

Cammy Rae (7) cycled 40.7 miles during the month of February and could be seen on various routes around the community with members of his family.

The Portsoy Primary School pupil raised £1150 which has been donated to Aberdeen Cyrenians which helps homeless people across the north-east.

Cammy's mum Gillian said: "Following a stay in Aberdeen where Cammy was asked by homeless people for money he asked us how he could help them.

"We came up with a sponsored bike ride and he set himself the challenge of cycling 20 miles in February and he hoped to raise £100.

"Throughout the month he managed to cycle 40.7 miles and raised £1150.

"We searched for homeless charities who he could donate to and found Aberdeen Cyrenians. We have been in contact with them throughout.

"We were through to Aberdeen recently where Cammy got to see the Cyrenians warehouse where they stock and sort through donations and they explained to him where the money he had raised will go."

During his cycle challenge Cammy was supported by his mum, dad Kyle and four-year-old sister Macey.
