Police probe A98 road smash

THE A98 between Buckie and Cullen was closed on Monday evening after a one car collision near the Findochty turn off.

Police were alerted at around 8.40pm to the single vehicle crash, which involved a silver Ford Focus.

Motorists were advised to avoid the area if at all possible while police officer, assisted by three ambulance crews, deal with the incident.

The five occupants of the car were taken to Dr Gray's Hospital in Elgin with injuries which are believed to be non-life threatening.

Three of the car's occupants were later arrested on charges unconnected with the incident.

A spokeswoman for Police Scotland added: "Any person who witnessed the accident or can provide information which will assist the investigation is asked to contact Police Scotland via 101 quoting incident number 3903 of April 1 2019 or speak with any police officer."

The road was later reopened around 4am.
