POLICE Scotland are asking motorists to make sure they and their vehicles are properly prepared for Storm Agnes.

The storm is forecast to start at around noon today and last until about 7am tomorrow.

A police spokesperson said: "Motorists are reminded to plan ahead and allow extra time for their journey.

"Ensure your vehicle is prepared for the conditions and you have sufficient fuel, warm clothing, food, water and a charged mobile phone in case of any delays."

The Met Office has issued yellow weather warnings for wind and rain across large parts of Scotland.
