Road Policing officers stopped a car in Fochabers "due to the manner of driving" at around 5.15pm on Sunday, November 12.

The 54-year-old driver of the white Ford Transit van failed a roadside breath test and was arrested and charged.

He was due to appear at Elgin Sheriff Court on November 13.

Inspector Lorraine Mackie said: “It is disappointing that people still consume alcohol and then get behind the wheel of a vehicle.

“Drivers put themselves, any passengers, and other road users at risk when they drive under the influence of alcohol.

“This behaviour won’t be tolerated on our roads and anyone with concerns or who suspects someone to be drink driving should report this to us via 101, or 999 in an emergency.”
