The grassy area was to the rear of Alba Road with the fire spotted at around 5.40 pm on Wednesday, May 21.

The investigating officer, constable Taylor from Keith police office, said "Outdoors fires are extremely risky, especially at a time of the year when the grass and vegetation is extremely dry due to the lack of rain.

“This fire was in close proximity to properties and fields which are busy with members of the public enjoying the recent good weather.”

The incident comes as Scotland remains on high alert for wildfires, with a huge blaze at Culbin Forest near Forres having raged for days.
