A SERIOUS collision on the A98 Elgin to Cullen road on Friday has led to an appeal for witnesses from Police Scotland.

An orange Suzuki car struck a wall of a property near Arradoul at around 4.45pm

The 56-year-old woman who was driving was airlifted to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.

A 28-year-old female passenger was taken by ambulance to Dr Gray’s Hospital in Elgin for treatment.

Both women sustained serious injuries.

Sergeant Scott Deans of the Road Policing Department said, "Our thoughts at this time are with the families of those involved in this collision.

"We have spoken to several witnesses but would still like to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision or saw the orange Suzuki motor car around that time.

"Anyone with any information who has not yet come forward can contact Police Scotland on 101 and quote incident number 2649, October 4."
