Love is at the centre of celebrations for one Ellon couple this week.

Family joined George and Olive Sinclair to celebrate their platinum wedding anniversary at home yesterday - that's an incredible 70 years of marriage.

After meeting at a dance in Tarves, the couple married at the Station Buffet in Ellon on February 18 1950 and have lived their whole married lives in the local area.

The couple had five children, and the love in their family has continued to grow through the decades with the arrival of nine grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren..."and everyone gets a birthday card".

Their family say that they don't think George and Olive have ever had a "real argument", a true testament to their love for each other.

So what is the secret to such a long and happy marriage?

The couple said: "Working together, some give and take and listening...always listening."
