Planning permission is being sought to build a 400ft weather mast at Cairds Wood to the south of Keith.

The application to Moray Council states the mast would be used for meteorological anemometers – instruments that measure wind speed and pressure.

It has been submitted to the council's planning committee by Green Cat Renewables, a Livingston-based engineering company.

The bid is associated with the proposed Edintore II wind farm.

Construction of the original Edintore site began in 2015, and six turbines have been operating there since 2017.
