Pizza and ice-cream on the menu for new north-east cafe

A multi-award winning north-east organic dairy is set to further expand its offering after planning permission for a new cafe was approved.

Approval has been granted to the Forest Farm.

Forest Farm at Kinellar submitted plans back in June last year for a major on-site expansion of their popular dairy and gelato business to include a new takeaway pizza and sit-in coffee and ice-cream parlour, at their location just off the A96.

As an extension to an existing site there was no objection from planners, however the application took longer than expected due to consultations being required by roads officers due to the site's location on a stretch of road with a 60mph limit, requiring long visibility at entrance and exit points.

The cafe is the latest in a string of completed, approved and potential food and drink sites next to the A96, with the Marshalls Farm shop to the north near Kintore recently opening their drive-thru, a farm shop at Huntly approved this week at the southern- roundabout and plans in the works for a new truck stop to the north of Huntly and further outlets next to Huntly Mart also in progress.
