PICTURES: Wellbeing the focus at Banff community event

A variety of activities were on offer at a community event that was held at The Vinery and Banff Castle on Saturday as part of the Aberdeenshire Wellbeing Festival.

The family fun day had health and wellbeing as its focus with a number of groups getting involved.

It was also an opportunity for The Vinery to celebrate a successful first year in operation.

Activities that were available included Soulsa and Let's Dance dancing, a Bookbug session, a chance to create copper charms with Vanilla Ink, circus skills and Jorukai Karate demonstrations.

Groups that were showcased included Home-Start, Banff and Macduff Men's Shed, 2nd Macduff Rainbows, Mears Group, Deveronvale Community Football Club, Heilan Hands Therapy, Finally Find You Coaching, Ranger Service, Banff Toy Bank, Banff fire crew, Macduff Scouts and Get Set Bounce.

Banff, Portsoy, Ordiquhill and Whitehills schools had bunting they had created on display as part of a competition. It was judged by Lord Lieutenant of Banffshire Andrew Simpson who picked Portsoy as the winner.

At Banff Castle there was field yoga and tours of the renovated venue.

A number of community groups were also there including Banffshire Field Club, Banff Preservation and Heritage Society, Deveron Harriers, Banff Art Club, Banff Rotary, Deveron Camera Club and the Banff fire crew had its fire engine on display.

The Vinery also held a number of events throughout the week as part of the festival which included yoga, open water swimming, watercolour painting, creating wildflower seed bombs and cooking.
